English Museum Collection Teddy Bear WITH PROVENANCE from the Estate of John McBride.
In 1994 the Tetbury Teddy Bear Museum in the Cotswolds, England, closed and John bought many of the wonderful teddy bears and props. A huge collection of antique and vintage teddy bears, toys and teddy bear-related books.
An American Ideal Bear with provenance Circa 1920. Well loved and traveled. Antique clothes and glasses. Gold mohair, shoe button eyes. 25 inches tall. Comes with photocopies of the original owner with bear as a child. Signed card by the original owner.
Hand written note:
"Hello! I am Teddy Brown, a much travelled bear. In 1950 I emigrated to Australia with my mistress and enjoyed being taken up on deck. I travelled home again in 1962 in a trunk, then went out again in 1966 to live in Tasmania. My mistress finally decided to settle back in England in 1974 and I was glad because all that travelling made me very tired."
