Home Of "Ruby"-Voted "Rarest Bear In Britain" by both teams of the BBC TV's "Antiques Roadshow"
Visitors to Palm Springs always enjoy viewing our exhibit of Antique Bears from a (now-closed) English Teddy Bear Museum.
On display is the bear voted "Rarest In Britain" by both teams of the BBC TV's "Antiques Roadshow" Ruby, the 1918 Red Mohair W.J.Terry (believed to have been only 12 ever made).
Other lovely old bears in the Exhibit include:
A rare brown and white 1930s Chad Valley Clown Bear.
A Chad Valley "Bobby Bear" with provenance-he belonged to the Actor Andre Morell (he played the title role in the TV series "Quatermass "in the 1950s).
And, to represent the USA, a lovely old 1920s Ideal USA Bear with amazing provenance-he travelled to England in the 1920s, then he emigrated to Australia with his "keepers", and then back to England, to the Bear Museum, and is now back in his native country, residing in comfort and greeting visitors, in his glass display at Dollsville Dolls & Bearsville Bears® in Palm Springs.
